Boat & Travel System
Travel between towns via boat captain and carpet merchant NPCs. Routes have gold costs, level requirements, quest gates, and optional discounts.
How It Works
- Talk to a captain NPC (click →
TalkNpcaction) - The NPC interaction panel shows a Travel tab with available routes
- Select a destination and confirm →
NpcTravel { npc_id, destination_name } - Server checks: NPC exists, route exists, 4-tile proximity, exhaustion (3s cooldown), min level, quest gate, PZ lock, gold (with discount)
- On success: gold deducted, teleport to destination, magic effects at both positions, "Set the sails!" NPC say
Boat Captain NPCs

Travel Features
- Travel exhaustion — 3-second cooldown between travels. Prevents rapid teleportation. Sends CONST_ME_POFF if exhausted.
- Quest-gated routes — Some routes require a quest to be completed before they unlock. Example: Captain Nemo's routes require Quest 10 (Deepdive).
- Travel discounts — Completing certain quests reduces travel costs. Example: Quest 5 (Goblin quest) gives 10g discount on Captain Reynald's route.
- Premium routes — Routes to premium towns require a premium account. Non-premium players see "🔒 Premium required".
- PZ lock — Players with red or black skulls cannot travel.
- Magic effects — CONST_ME_TELEPORT (id=11) at both origin and destination positions.
Achievement
- Ship's Kobold (Achievement 13) — Unlocks at 100 travels. Travel count tracked in
player.storage[9001].
Client UI
- Travel window — The ship captain's travel tab shows a route list with destination name, cost, and level requirement. Selectable rows + "Yes, set the sails!" confirm button.
- Disabled routes show "Lv X required", "Not enough gold", or "🔒 Premium required".
