Aetherian Forge Guide

The Aetherian Forge is a PoE-inspired currency and affix system tied to the lore of the Forge of Binding.

Item Rarities

  • Normal (white) — Base item, no affixes
  • Magic (blue) — 1-2 random affixes
  • Rare (yellow) — 3-6 random affixes
  • Unique (orange) — Fixed affixes, special properties

Affixes

Equipment drops roll random affixes based on the monster's tier. Higher-tier monsters drop items with more and better affixes.

Affix stats include:

  • Attack bonus
  • Armor bonus
  • HP/Mana bonus
  • Elemental resistances
  • Hit chance
  • Speed

Each affix has a lore-connected name (e.g., "of Zariel", "of the Drowned King", "of Pyraxis").

Forge Relics

9 Forge Relic currency items (IDs 32001-32009):

1. Forge Shard — Basic upgrade currency

2. Forge Crystal — Higher-tier upgrade

3. Chaos Ember — Rerolls all affixes

4. Exalted Ember — Adds a new affix

5. Void Ember — Removes an affix

6. Divine Ember — Rerolls affix values

7. Binding Ember — Binds an item (makes it untradeable but boosts stats)

8. Corrupt Ember — Corrupts an item (unpredictable powerful effect)

9. Mirror Shard — Duplicates an item

Advanced: Corruption

Corrupting an item with a Corrupt Ember is a high-risk, high-reward action. The corruption can:

  • Add a powerful implicit modifier
  • Increase all affix values by 10-20%
  • Rarely: destroy the item entirely

Once corrupted, an item cannot be modified further by any other Forge Relic. Choose wisely!

Strategy: Only corrupt items that are already well-rolled. Don't corrupt your only good item — have a backup.

Vendor Recipes

Some item sets can be sold to vendors for specific Forge Relics:

  • Sell a full set of rare items → Forge Shard
  • Sell a corrupted rare → Chaos Ember
  • Sell a unique → Forge Crystal

Using Forge Relics

1. Open the Forge Panel in the game client

2. Select a Forge Relic from your inventory

3. Select the target item

4. Confirm the action

Relics are consumed on use — they're a natural economy sink. They're also tradeable on the Grand Exchange.
